FAQ

What is this about?

AI already shapes decisions that affect daily life, yet the people it affects are rarely asked what they think. This dialogue gathers people's own views on AI, in their own words, wherever they live. The aim is a clear picture of what the public actually wants from AI, not what experts assume on its behalf.

Who is running it?

Current AI, a non-profit, public-interest AI partnership building open, accountable AI that is shaped by the public. Current AI launched at the AI Action Summit in Paris in February 2025 and backs open datasets, open-source tools and accountability. Learn more at currentai.org. This is not a government project, and taking part does not commit you to anything.

Do I need to know anything about AI to take part?

No. The questions are about everyday judgment calls: when an AI should answer or hold back, how your data should be handled, who should have a say in how AI behaves. You don't need any technical background to have a valuable view.

Why does this look like a chat?

Instead of a fixed form, our AI interviewer asks you short questions and follows up on your answers, so we capture the reasoning behind your views rather than just a tick-box. Some questions appear as cards (a quick choice, a ranking, a slider) that you answer in place. You can end the conversation whenever you like.

Is it anonymous?

Yes. We don't ask for your name. At the end you can leave an email for updates, but that is optional. A short-lived cookie keeps your session linked across this one conversation, and your responses are stored as anonymous research data. We ask which country you're from only to understand how views differ across places, never to identify you.

What happens to what I say?

Your answers are anonymised and published in an open public report. What you share goes to the people building public-interest AI at Current AI, so it can shape what they build and how. Your voice becomes part of the record alongside those of people from around the world.

Will the AI reply in my language?

Yes. This conversation runs in English, German, French or Italian, and you can switch at any time using the language button. The AI interviewer always replies in the language you choose.
